My car failed it’s emissions recently, hc and lambda was just a pass but failed on co a lot

ive had the car a brand new cat for it’s retest, but vagcom showing a 00635 fault - faulty on the lambda. Just wondering if this will fail the car again? as I’ve said the hc and lambda was green on the emissions system monitor

also, what’s the best option for draining fuel tank? Through the filler or through the back seats?
