Hey guys, has anyone tried to do this themselves? More specifically, without the power bleeding tool?

I ask because I am very confused....All the manuals for my car say it should take 11.5L of coolant (G13, mixed with distilled water of course). However, after draining my car with the bottom drain screw and removing 2 additional coolant hoses (1 to the radiator, the other to the block/cooler), only roughly 7-8L came out. More confusingly, the car only took back in roughly 6 litars, even after the fans turned on, thermostat opened, heat on high/low, etc. Been driving it for 2 days now (aggressively even) and the coolant level is still showing at max, so the car will not take any more and I have 6L left over.

The car blows hot air like normal. Any ideas on what to do? Is this normal?

You will never get it all out . When you drain the coolant some stays in the water jackets in the engine block and inside the heater matrix. Sounds normal

Sometimes you run the engine & a little more comes out

Next time just buy the pre-mixed stuff, its 50/50 antifreeze/ water mixed so protects down to minus 30 at least ......................... you need it in Scotland

I don't really flush mine out unless its dirty or the heater matrix is chocked up, because as your finding out, you cannot get it all out
