Just getting used to new car. Today I did a long journey with a tow bar mo united bike rack, including lighting board plugged into the 13 pin electrics (I have trailer pack). However as soon as I put the car in D for he whole journey it said warning "Audi pre-sense emergency braking system off". Once I had taken the bike rack off and tow bar stowed it was normal again.

Seems like an odd feature although I could sort of see the logic if you were towing a massive trailer. For me with a bike rack I would like the system still on. I could not find an option to override it.

I've just RTFM and it is explained in there that this feature is automatically disabled when towing and the electrical socket is in use. Anyone know if I override it & how as I'm not actually towing anything?

I can see the logic as it could be blocking the sensors if you are towing or have a large bike rack. I guess it’s too hard to work out what is attached to the car or what sensor is being blocked?

It would be worth checking with Audi to see if it’s just the rear that’s disabled and the warning in your picture is generic and misleading?

Unless of course it’s because it won’t break at all if it thinks it’s towing?

I was thinking it was just disabling the rear pre-sense but maybe not.
