I think the existing cars are taking a beating.
Just had mine valued and it wasn’t great. My last A6 didn’t take this much depreciation percentage wise over a longer period.
£24k 65plate 272 23k miles with tech pack, light pack, memory seats.
If I could get a few grand more I would have probably changed mine for an s6 but decided to hold on to it for a little more.

Another consideration for Sheroo is how much more will his current car depreciate? Nowhere near whatever he takes out of the showroom so worth keeping for now as you’re doing. Good decision.

Thanks JonathanK, I totally agree, my car has been value a lowly £13K as a trade though I'm confident I can get closer to £17 private. I expect this has now plateaued and the price will not depreciate massively now - not much to decrease anyway!

Thanks, it's a saloon and I've decided to keep running it and pocket the car allowance.

When I bought my A6 with 9,000 miles on it, 2 1/2 year old and £11,500; with 6 months warranty left on it ........................... new was £28,000

Fast forward 9 years to 11 year old and its worth maybe £3,000 . Some Council van hit it recently causing £1,500 worth of damage and it wasn't written off, so its maybe worth a bit more

So as usual, the biggest hit is in the first 3 years
    VW POLO 2002 1.2 12v , Audi A6 2006 2.0 TDi SE , Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDi

All 3 cars in the current fleet

Ive just picked up an A6 30 TDi quattro 245 for under 18k with 18k miles on it. I think Ive picked up a really good car and looking forward to seeing what its like to drive. should be a fun machine.

oh really well done mate... i'm going to look at 17k one next week albeit the 2 tdi ultra... so tempted to go for a 3.0 litre one but a difference of 10mpg between in two on motorways will cost me about a grand extra in fuel annually or 3quid per day (doesnt sound that much when i look at the daily difference, may be i should go for a 3litre one.... so tempted)

    and did you go auction/dealer/private?
