2010 audi S3 2.0 tfsi sounds like a diesel when revved

hi all,

i have a 2010 audi s3 2.0 tfsi cdla and it sounds like a diesel when its revved, and i mean just like my caddy sdi.

originally it sounded like a bottom end knock but after looking into it i found that the dual mass flywheel was dead, i thought that would be the end of my troubles but it turns out the flywheel noise was hiding the diesel sound that i can now clearly hear when revving the engine. to me it sounds very much like a noisy cam, the cams look fine with no wear to be seen. the cam chain and tensioner have been changed with genuine parts and the cam adjuster has also been changed with a new one bought of ebay. the timing has been checked many times too. its had fresh oil and filter and the sump has been off too to check for and signs of engine wear but all was clean. i have no dtc's and the car drives perfect.

please anyone have any ideas with this???

your seems to be on idle and a bit more chain noise, mine is perfect on idle its only when i rev it up and down i get the noise and its more a cam / knock noise, like my caddy sdi

Oh dear that sounds horrible, how many miles on the engine. I’m thinking carbon build up on inlet leading to poor running any misfires?
