    Hi All.

    I have been a happy owner of an A4 TDi B6 for the past 10 years. I have decided to look a getting something new (used)
    I have seen an A6 local to me, Part audi service history and regular service. all the toys etc. Spec below.

    They want £6200 for it. My concerns are the high mileage and not knowing what to look for or check on used A6.
    Any common issues on the test drive I should be aware of?
    Should I be put off by the high mileage? Ideally want to keep this for at least 5 years.

    Feel free to give me a shout with some help if you can.

    The service history miles look strange most of its long life (20k) then the last 3 don't make sense make sure the dates in the service book run true and ask to see the mot cert for the previous mileage.

    Make sure that the timing belt has been done should be done at 112,000 or 5 year point.

    Wheel bearings may may need to be replaced soon enough.

    Ask the the dealer to have a 4 wheel alignment done and show you the print out.

    From the description it looks like a Le Mans version.

    With the radio on put on the heated rear screen to check that there is no interference if there is then you may need a new screen.

    If buying off a trader then you have six months to bring the car back for any problems.

    if it's done a lot of motorway miles then check the front of the car as the bumper can get a lot of chips due to the non cleaning of the motorways.

    As per Dan's post - as well as:

    * All electrics - windows / doors / buttons - particularly on the dash
    * Check the MMI all works properly - all functions/speakers/amp
    * Air-Con/Climate

    Can you borrow a code reader/VCDS, to see what it reports after you've taken it out for an extended test drive?
