smartphone interface vs Galaxy S7

Can anyone help? I cant find a way to download Android Auto App onto my samsung galaxy S7.

It says it is compatible on their website, but play store says its isn't with my device so wont let me download. It might be something to do with being on Android 7.0 Nougat.
Smartphone interface wont work without it.
Google isn't helping.

Anyone done this?

I can confirm this. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 (not edge) with Android Nougat 7.0 and have installed Android Auto with no issues. My phone is on O2.

Is your phone rooted?

Its the edge.
Rooted? No idea. Bought on ee so probably has their default set up system.

Have a look online for android auto APK and install it direct to the phone rather than using Google play.

APK mirror is an OK website.

Rooted means custom versions of android which it seems unlikely you've got. I don't think it being EE branded will affect that at all.
