My cruise control is working perfectly in every sense of the word with just the one problem. When I press the lever to go left it turns off the cruise control and the car slows, which is rather awkward when you have passed a vehicle on the motorway and want to indicate that you are pulling back in.

It started off occasionally, but is now 'always'. I have experimented by being extremely careful how I touch the lever, and even pressing the lever at the steering wheel end turns it all off.

    Any ideas?

    Same here.
I guess it is something rare.
As my A6 is from 2004, with 370000km it most probably points to some wear out. Perhaps a cable or contact issue?

Can anyone point to some documentation on how to open-up or access the indicator area?

    Hi Crasher, thanks for replying.
Are you pointing to a replacement of that unit or can it be inspected for possible error?
