Contacted the finance company yesterday (Thursday), and they mentioned they would sort the issue out. Got a text today from the salesperson who has been dealing with me, saying he's not going to fall out over the repair. Rung him up, an he confirmed that the repair was covered and that the car is ready to collect. So as far as everything goes OK tomorrow I haven't had to pay a penny.

I'm guessing the finance company contacted the dealership, and had a quiet word with the owner, who then had a quiet word with the salesperson. Happy with the result.

Not gone the finance route. Out of interest, why would they bother sorting it out (i know they have a vested interest in the value of the car but that's not effected by you having to pay for this or not..?)

I assume they've took into consideration that I could, if I wanted to as a last resort, get a full refund on the car under the Consumers Right Act 2015, which they then could lose out on the interest I will be paying them. Also, at the moment it is legally the finance company's car until I pay off the full amount.
