Hey guys I'm looking to buy the above car and wanted some info before I go ahead with the purchase..
It's a Feb 2013 Volkswagen Golf GT BLUEMOTION TECH TDI 150BHP.. 3 DOOR
I was just wondering if you's could give me some info on pro's and con's on these cars?
I took the car for a test drive last night (Thursday) and the car seemed to drive very well (not very powerful though)
maybe its because I'm currently driving a car at 225bhp lol
But I have had mk4 golfs before 110 and 130bhp and they were more lively..
This car has VVWSH as well and I noticed the belt and water pump has not been changed, when does this normally take place?
    The car has 89000 miles.
I drive to work every day (Mon - Fri) which is 4/5 miles from my house, would this be an issue with the DPF malarky?

    Any help much appreciated,

Doing 4-5 miles a day, doesn't justify to buy diesel. DPF on these car regens quite often to prevent from blocking, driving short trips will cause unsuccessful regens. Unless you take for short blast during regens time. Consider 1.4 tfsi, good economy and less headaches with dpf.

The cambelt change is due at 130,000 miles.

Although the EA 288 engines have a thermal management system with just 4-5 miles use it will hardly be warm at the end and it will not help potential DPF issues.

The 2.0L TDI is a good engine and it comes into its own for high mileages such as the previous owner/s have run.

As bakili said consider the 1.4 tfsi ( if your usage isn't changing).

Cheers for the reply, I meant it's 4-5 mile to my work then home again, although i do other bits of driving etc.. and long journeys at the weekends..
I was also going to map this car as I dont find them too powerful, nor much torque in them.. If I was to map this car is it true that you can do away with the DPF??
    Or is that just rumors?

    Cheers

Cheers for the reply.. I have heard from few different people (garage men included) that these cars need belted @ 120k,125k and 130k..
I'm also looking at a 2014 GTD, does the same rules apply?/

    Cheers

Vw doesn't state now when exactly to change belt, they advice to check it on yearly service. I had mine replaced at 85k due water pump failure. Belt looked fine, but it was wrong not to change while replacing pump

I would not recommend removing the DPF as its standard on the car so will affect your MOT.

There is quite a lot of difference between the two.
Power output and torque are obviously increased.

The GTD has a larger turbo and variable valve timing, better progressive steering and GTD/GTI/R sports suspension and 18” Nogaros.

Other differences include XDS+ to help turn in & reduce understeer, an anti-tramp function, Bi-xenon lights / LED DRL’s, LED foglights, rear lights & number plate lights., Climate control, illuminated LED threshold strips, GTD/GTI rear spoiler, deeper front bumper, side skirts, honeycombe radiator grill.

There are other more subtle things like GTD/GTi/R specific design insrument cluster, stainless steel pedals, painted brake calipers , grey tartan sport seats, colour MFA display.

Later GTDs have Keyless, Winter pack & Discover Nav as standard.
