Just picked up my new Q7 in Sepang Blue having owned 2 of the old shape ones previously. Lovely car so far... Couple of things I wouldn't mind checking please. In my old one I could charge things even when the engine was off and the car locked - seems this isn't the case on the new one? I was also looking forward to the 4 zone climate control for the kids in the back but seems they can't use it if I've put either of the rear door lock buttons on. Seems strange as I need the door lock on for our youngest child on one side but want the other 2 kids to be able to adjust the temperature in the rear. Any way of separating the two out please?

Hi Dazzler congrats on the new car!

Charging wise I think all the 12v sockets Power cut off when engine is turned off - know this is the case most def for the front 12v socket.

Re 4 zone again don’t think you can separate them as also assume the child lock is what locks the rear heating adjustment.

However I could be wrong and someone else will be along to let us know

Thanks Nemo. Yes the child lock button unfortunately also locks automatically the rear heating too. Strange because whilst I don't want my 3 year old to be able to open one of the rear doors he's not capable of reaching the controls for the rear heating so don't need it disabling. And yet I'd hope the other 2 kids at 8 and 12 wouldn't open a rear door (well at least whilst we are moving) and so would be nice for them to be able to control their own temperature. Kind of defeats the object of 4 zone climate control. I know I can adjust the rear temp from the front of the car but think the older kids were hoping they could do themselves. Many thanks once again for your prompt reply.
