  1. How do you remove the ECU?

    Hi,

Can anyone point me at a guide for removing the ECU from a B5?

From what I've gathered so far:

    1) Turn it off with the wipers pointing up (?)
    2) Unbolt the wiper arms
    3) Remove the plastic piece of trim near the wiper arms
    4) Remove some screws
    5) Get access to the ECU box

is that basically it or am I missing important steps?

    Thanks

I thought the ECU was under the carpet of the front passenger footwell or am I getting confused with another one, I had a few boxes out a year or so ago.

Engine Ecu is drivers side under the plastic scuttle that covers pelum chamber,Open black box there and the ecu should be there

Ah, I stand corrected, that explains why my central locking has a mind of its own after I found the CCM immersed in water.

Buy a replacement wiper scuttle cover 99.9% chance it will break, it’s just under £20 from the dealer.
