This morning I parked up in the car park at work, locked my car as usual and went inside. Within about 10 minutes, two different people had told me that my indicators were flashing. I went out and checked but the car was as normal, so I just unlocked and locked again with the remote key to make sure it was definitely locked.

I know the indicators can stay on if the alarm has gone off, but nobody seemed to have noticed that. Our car park's tiny and is also only about 20 yards from my office window (albeit the view is obscured by a hedge) so someone should have noticed if it had - and I'm sure I'd have heard.

Is there any reason why my indicators might come on randomly whilst the car is switched off and locked?

    Cheers!

I had this happen on a 2004 touran when it was about 8 years old, it was the alarm sounder or siren, the alarm sounder unit has an internal rechargeable battery which was knackered, i disconected and removed the sounder, you can get replacements though. A scan might show up this to be the fault, could be something else though, just saying this was my experience.

They may not have noticed the alarm going off, the siren is very quiet from outside the vehicle.
