    Hi All.

    Got an EML come on today.

    According to VCDS its

    008213 - Intake manifold Position Sensor (bank 1)
    P2015 - 000 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent - MIL ON

    Ive cleared the code and its cleared, erm, any idea what the code means? Read the ross tech wiki, some say the sensor is built into the manifold so have to change the entire manifold, some say check the wiring, Im going to get a friend to look at the wiring next monday when he has some time. Anyone have an idea how much a replacement sensor costs? Will check to see if the light comes on again if it doesnt wohoo if it does then

    Also, recently, my climatronic has just started coming on by itself?!?!? driving along, feel heat look down and what the! climatronic is on. Its done this about 7 times now, only seems to do it when the car is warm or if i leave my hand on the gearstick when driving (which i tend to do)

    According to VCDS its

    01592 - Air Quality Sensor (G238)
    014 - Defective

    Again reading on the web, some say check your pollen filter and some say change your climatronic panel. Any idea where this sensor is located? Anyone have any ideas about this code?

    Any help is appreciated

    Car is a 58 plate 2.0 tdi CR at 152k miles.

    go to europarts and buy a new pollen filter, Mann one

    there should be a diagram to follow to fit. If not , check in shop & ask for one out of another in not in it

    I wonder if its the sensor in the centre console, well at least on an A6 and you can hoover it ?

    Leaving your hand on the gearstick is a bad habit which can cause damage to your gearbox and / or gear linkage.

    The variable inlet manifold unit wears and the only simple solution is to replace it with the upgraded unit from VW.

    P2015 error caused by over rotation of the actuator motor on the intake manifold. I had this on an A4 CR 2.0 a few weeks ago. You cannot buy the motor on its own and the manifold is approx £400 from TPS. This is a common fault. As the fault actually lies in the over rotation there has been a fix created by 3rd party vendors to act as a hard stop to stop the over rotation. I bought this one which is for metal manifolds Audi VW 2.0 TDI Inlet Manifold P2015 Error Flap Actuator Motor Repair Bracket | eBay and they do another version for plastic msnifolds. Best £20 ever spent

    Hi all.

    Sorry for the delay in replying back just been majorly busy.

    @niall
    Got a new filter, always used mann ones, no change, still got the code coming up. When i replaced the filter a load of leaves and crud did fall out of the filter housing, strange seeing as how i changed it last service (march) and havent dont many miles, but cleaned it all up. Dont suppose anyone knows where the actual sensor is so i can mayb try cleaning it?

    @DMitch
    eh?!?!?! is this for real? I have NEVER heard of this before! sure its not just an old wives tale? I genuinely dont get how leaving my hand on the gearstick can damage gearbox/gear linkage, its not as if my hand weights 2 tonnes! is this a real thing?!?!?! new one to me.

    @Crasher
    I dont suppose you have a part no for the upgraded unit? is it the same for all diesels or specific to engines? How long does it roughly take to change? are there any extra bits that may be needed? bolts? springs? washers?

    @umaarkhalid
    erm, not too sure about sticking a 3rd party bit of metal costing £20 in the engine bay, looks cheap as hell, bit of metal with a spring attached? How does it fit? is there space for it? what if the spring pops out looks like it can do some damage. In its defense £20 is hellofalot cheaper than the £400 you said.

    Once again, thanks for the help folks

    The spring is already there in the engine bay, they provide you with a replacement in case you need it. It is covered up by the engine cover anyway so you never see it. They have videos on the link how to install it. You can thread a screw in there yourself if you don’t want to install the metal bracket. The bracket takes about 10 minutes to install. So you will save a hell of a lot on labour too! Decision is yours. If you search the web you will find out how common this fix is.

    This might be a stupid question, but can anyone point out on the pic, where the intake manifold and motor is on the pics included? I got in touch with the ebay seller and he said his 'fix' will only fit part numbers 03L 129 711E with v157 actuator, I just want to know where the part is so I can match the part number up...
