Hi

I have a 2007 Passat V6 3.2 Litre Estate.

I recently had some issues with the AFS light coming on. I took it to the dealership and they did a scan and confirmed it was the right headlight. As part of the diagnostics they apparently swap the headlight controllers over to check if the error moves to the left headlight or stays with the right headlight. In my case the error followed the controller and was reporting the left headlight light as having the issue. They recommend replacing the controller on the left headlight, however they said that the part is NZD ~1000 dollars. All up about NZD $1400 to complete the repair. I was trying to see if I can sort an after market part, or second hand part - but they won't give me the part number as it is "brand and dealership policy". Does anyone know what the VW part number I am after and whether I need to get VW to complete the work - i.e can any qualified mechanic complete the repair if I can provide them the part.

The complete headlight unit is VW part number 3C0 941 754 H and is £509.95 + VAT in the UK

The Power module for cornering light is 7L6 941 330 and £195.71 + VAT in the UK
