    Would you expect the battery to be giving up on my 14 plate? Would having so many electrical gadgets affect its life expectancy?
    I've not had a chance to test battery or alternator yet but first start in the morning seem quite slow, also stop start isn't operating as I expect the charge is to low.
    After a 300mile drive there was no change to starting or stop start operation

    I would not expect it to fail however it could be original batteries. There are two batteries in the Q7. Would start by having the car scanned for fault codes and check the voltage from the alternator

    2 batteries? I've not had a chance to look over the car as only had it a month.
    Are both batts in the boot and same size?
    I'll check volts when running and not this week

    The batteries are located under the passenger seat. Have a look online and you’ll see more detail

    Even after a 5 hour drive last month it was the same, not had a chance to test this week but cold crank this morning was very laboured

    I would try and get a test done on both the batteries and alternator. Vcds diagnostic should be able to give you these values if you have access to it?

    Finally had a chance to voltmeter it
    Standing voltage 11.8
    Running voltage 13.8-14
    When turned off drops down to 11.8 with a minute
    I have a power pack in my garage that standing voltage is 12.8 so I’m assuming my battery has dropped

    Strange, had the battery properly tested and they reckon it tests fine and recommended driving at 70 for one hour to charge it as it’s just a bit low on charge. Now I know this won’t work as I regularly drive it for an hour and even after a 5 hour drive was the same.
    Surely I must be the battery as the charging system was tested and is fine, the battery just won’t charge properly?
