    Howdy Guys n Gals,

After pottering around for the last god knows how long deciding, I have now just viewed and bought a 1999 S4 Avant which is good with good history, proof of work etc etc, but needs a little love on the cosmetic side. For those that know me from the B5 Passat page, I’m keeping my PD130 Wagon as a daily driver.

Jesus Christ this thing shifts! It’s insane....

I’m sure I’ll be on with many questions over the foreseeable, And no, it’s a standard car which hasn’t been abused. It will be staying that way until I’ve got it how I want it.

Brake pads currently click when stopping at low speeds suspect they’re loose in the calipers slightly? LCD has gone in cluster and arm rest is broken along with a slight tear due to wear in the drivers bolster.

    Aidan

Nice. Clunk on braking could be missing or loose brake pad spring clips.

Take a closer look at rear coil springs too. Tendency for them to break as we enter winter season with road salt and potholes a plenty. Either that or fronts are sitting high?

Struggling to find the spring clips. Pretty sure it’s them. Had Same on Passat when I got that. I noticed the front looks high. One rear spring is new but he didn’t do the other. Might leave it for now and buy a full new set of springs once it’s passed it’s MOt in December.

Anybody know if a scuttle panel/cover that fits the B5 A4? Looks bare without one.

It is actually very tidy, I bought it two or three years ago with a genuine 57k miles and it has now just clicked onto 75k, the only issue I had with it was the heater matrix started leaking so had to be replaced.

Oh by the way any chance of some interior pics of yours to look at???
