I got my A7 (65 plate) 12 months ago and bought a 12month 3G SIM card to operate the connect services. This has now run out and I'd like to run it through the 4G data package on my phone ( Iphone6). I've been through all the menus and can't find any way of doing it. Is it possible or is it another big iPhone NO

If I recall I think if you use your iPhone as a hotspot your car should be able to find it and use its WiFi connection.

What you can’t do is just connect it by cable or Bluetooth and use it that way.

The hotspot method is what the Passat requires to work for services. Haven’t personally tried it in the A7 as still have a SIm installed

Thanks. I've had a play but can't find any way to use the iPhone as a hotspot. I only want it for traffic info as I never use the connect services. I really think I'll be switching from Apple when the time comes to change.

Iphones do not accept RSAP data sharing, but android phones do. The only way i could get the Audi connect working was via the separate sim. I unfortunately had to upgrade the firmware so i could operate SIM and Bluetooth together, but after a lot of messing about have both working fine. I have a work iPhone, and asked about a duel / second SIM which is possible apparently, but my work would not allow. May be an option for you to get a second sim that is attached to your phone account?? I ended up getting a 12Gig pre loaded 12 month SIM card on amazon for £30. Still going strong, and i am hoping it lasts 12 months??

I just use a cheap monthly sim, and instruct the car how I want the resources allocated (Currently Data extracted from car sim, and all other services via iphone sim). Sim is about £7 per month? (But that bulk one above in the thread sounds fab) Also, if your car's access to Audi Connect has expired - just phone up Audi Group, and they'll provide you with another year to online services for free (whilst they work out how they can charge

    Good luck!

Used this card via Amazon. Its currently £30, but i paid £25 back in June.
Currently only used 1.5gb, after almost 5 months. Google maps running all the time, plus using the online services now and then.

I ended up getting a 3 PAYG card. It comes with 200mb of free data a month. This is plenty to run Audi Connect and traffic info. Sim was free and doesn't even need topping up. I just registered it and it worked straight away. (I'm also ditching the iPhone for android soon. Sick of the restrictions Apple put in place on their phones)
