Someone asked this question elsewhere over the weekend & cant remember where. But the answer was Nitrogen has bigger molecules than air. Therefore they leak out slower. The problems are tyres need to be completley deflated before filling and can only be topped up with nitrogen.
Or along those lines. Will try and find where I saw the question posed.

Don't see any great benefit for Joe Bloggs so I'll stick to my usual easy option straight from the air line at the local garage.

Interesting, I'd noticed that in Cosco a while back and have been meaning to ask on here myself but forgot.

I can't see this working for everyday drivers, how would you fill your tyres etc unless you roll around with a nitrogen tank in the boot and something to compress it in with.

It would be interesting to hear from anyone who is using Nitrogen and where they had their tyres filled from and how they tackle the 'topping up' dilemma

    It's a gimmick IMHO.

Only a select few places will have the means to fill/top up your tyres meaning you are tied to those places. You can mix N and O2 but that defeats the purpose.

N is said to help the tyre hold the true pressure for longer and stop oxidation (it's more dry than air) but my tyres already have 78% nitrogen in them and I'm happy.

Save your money for something else

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
