    Hi guys.

I have the folowing Error. See Pic.

My question is What's the part No apparently there are 3 or 4 sensors on the d3 for exhaust. Which one do I need and roughly how much am I looking at in terms of cost of part and cost of labour .

On my iPad so I can't give you the number but I think these are genuine only so you should get what you need from a TPS or Audi dealer by quoting the SDC code G235 after they have entered your VIN into ETKA.

Called tps today and they can't for sure say which one I need. There are 2 possibilities apparently both of which are before the manifold. So I guess the only real way to find out it to get it checked.

I forgot to update my home version of ETKA with my new password so I can't get FI suggestion on the sensor until Monday t work. Guessing a few of the cars details using the 4E type number and ASE engine code I can see G235 as being EGT sensor 1 for bank one which is the right hand side in the right turbo, mounted in the turbine housing itself and has the part number 057 906 088 which retails at 147.38 from Audi or TPS.

The SDC code G235 in ETKA does not differentiate between left and right, using the workshop system ELSA shows G235 to be "exhaust gas temperature sender 1" and the other side is described as "exhaust gas temperature sender 1 for bank 2 -G236-" so from that we can assume G235 is bank 1 which is the right hand bank as viewed from the drivers seat locking forwards. This means the part number is 057 906 088, the Audi procedure is as follows

    Removing

All cable ties which are released or cut open when removing must be fitted in the same position when installing.

    Remove starter catalytic converter

Unplug electrical connector and unscrew exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235

    Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing.

Note correct installation position of exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235-:

The electrical connection must point downwards in vertical direction.

    Install starter catalytic converter .

    Update.

I popped over to the local dealer and ordered the above part. It will take around a week as it's shipped from Germany.
