    So Finially got round to taking it to the garage to have it replaced. The guy there said he needs to take off subframe etc to access it and to replace it.

    Does this sound right? Do you have a installation guide at hand?

    Yes because it is above the down-pipe and that will probaly have to come off for access and removing the down-pipe means lowering the subframe. I had to do an EGT sensor on an AllRoad 4B 2.7T and it would not come out' it stripped itself in the boss so the pipe and turbo had to come out and that means removing the engine.....
