i have done a little research, and measuring blocks show 005 bank 1 communication to multi-function wheel "not ok".
is this most likely the slipring? or the controler? ive checked the wires in the wheel today, they all look fine.
thanks in advance for your help.

All back on again, but steering angle sensor shows intermittent power supply fault too, all cleared though.
So is this the slip ring?

Think the slip ring is now your only place to look.

Bugger, so swapped the slip ring still the same.
So as i have another A6 here i thought I would swap air bags to eliminate the wiring.
Again no change, still has fault steeringwheel controls no communication. So i swapped the wheel. Fault has gone... so it must be my steering wheel buttons?? Can i swap these as i have an exclusive wooden steering wheel
