Well, I emailed Audi Maidstone, and got an email back asking for my postal address, contact number and the VIN of my car, which I provided.

I have not heard anything more so I am hopeful they will just send them to me.

I specifically told them the version I have, now waiting for the next email If they say £3 per disk Ill go buy them, though I have another CD writer that burnt the NRG file without error, I am now nervous about using it.

It comes as a set for 7 quid I've just done mine I'd loan you the discs but I'm too far away yeah it isn't worth the risk for what they cost genuine

As per this post, to go from 0500, you only need the three CD set 5150/BT phone/5570 which has the 4L0 part number above. Dealer price seems to be about £7.

The reason these can be tricky to get hold of from some dealers is that they are supposed to be 'internal use' only; i.e. not for customer use. Some dealers ignore this so that's why some can purchase them.

The alternative to a dealer is to buy a set from an eBay seller; these are sets that someone has got hold of and [reasonably] is making a small[ish] profit for their effort.

ok, well if anyone happens to have the disks that will allow me to upgrade from 0500 to 5570 and is happy to loan them to me, I will possibly be close to wherever you are in the UK at the end of this month.
I will be driving from Maidstone in Kent, up the M1 all the way to Newcastle, then through Northumberland to Coldstream in the borders. Then 2 days later Ill be heading west to Glasgow for a show, from there Ill be down to Stranraer, ferry over to Belfast, then down to Dublin, and from Dublin over to wales, and back towards Maidstone.

Lol, if anyone has them all Ill collect, and send them back to you once Ive done the update. I will even contribute £10 for a beer fund.

As it happens, I have the dealer supplied 5150/5570 3CD set and you're close to me all the time.

As previously described, I'm in Ashford Kent @ M20 J10, which I reckon is about 30 miles there and back.

You're welcome to pick them up from me ...

You don't need those 'in-between' levels; you can go straight from 0500 to 5150. Then you go to 5570 ...

It's a common Internet fallacy; based on no-one knowing but repeating info. they read elsewhere.

I went direct from 0890 to 5150; 0890 was released only 2 weeks after 0500.

Bear in mind most people updated their MMI almost 10 years ago; 5570 is 10 years old this October.

The worst you can do is try; it can only fail saying something like "Invalid CD".
