New Car Issues

Thought I'd consolidate issues from my new car (picked up at the weekend). Always unfortunate having issues straight away, takes a little away from the new car enjoyment.

1. Intermittent dashboard warning - SOS not functioning properly, partially available and to contact workshop
2. Courtesy lights do not work - they are now working and not had an issue for a few days
3. Surround parking cameras working intermittently
4. Door pocket lights not working

I am really hoping for quick resolution and no more issues.... Car is at the garage on 22nd September

SOS not functioning.. could be the embedded SIM not working.. best get dealer to check
coutesy lights.. make sure your light switch to the right of the steering wheel is set to "auto"
parking cameras.. should just work.. try pulling the fuse to the camera module (its in the boot fuse holder - left hand side...) and reconnecting...
light in door pockets comes on when you put your hand in (it senses the hand motion).. only at night though!

Andy thanks for the updates. I have it booked in on Friday to check all this. SIM seems to be working ok as it downloaded the speed camera locations and also google maps. Yeah switch is in Auto and nothing. Regarding the fuse, is it in the manual where I can find this and will have a look as thats one thing I am desperate for especially parking and not used to the size yet. I don't think door pocket light is working, will check again when its dark

I found details re fuse in handbook so dont worry will try pulling it out and placing back again.

Thanks anemeth. Does not sound good if it is true. Interesting nothing from any UK buyers. Its going in on Friday.

Glad you found fuse.. worth a punt (check its not blown)

That 96E7 software campaign only takes upto 1 hour to deploy so if its needed it "should" be a relatively quick job.

I didn't need to check the fuse as leaving work the cameras started working again. I hate intermittent faults....

Going to pick it up - not really happy with the service if I am honest, I dont have any concerns with issues for such a new car, its the way they are handling it and get the feeling of them trying to fob me off. I shall be giving them my feedback when I get there.

1. Intermittent dashboard warning - SOS not functioning properly, partially available and to contact workshop - Apparently loose Ariel connection which they reseated
2. Courtesy lights do not work - they are now working and not had an issue for a few days- Working so no issue yet
3. Surround parking cameras working intermittently - No fault logged so nothing they can do
4. Door pocket lights not working - They have no idea about this feature and told me I must not have the lighting pack, I have the ambient lighting, and there are no other options I can see!! Also clear in the manual about this feature. Am I missing something
