    Hi everyone,
    Just as the title says, I don't know which discs size should I go with. The car is a 2003 A4 Avant 1.8T BEX Quattro 6sp , and I'm looking to get new discs+pads for it. Now I went and did some research about pricing and what not, and I found some mtec's that are drilled and grooved for the right price(same price as non drilled EBC's). But before I placed the order, I decided to have a chat with them and see if the size I wanted to order, fits my car(their website said it does but its worth to double check).
    So the guy said that he thinks 312mm fronts don't fit my car and I should get the 288mm, and he even said to go take off the wheels and measure the discs I found that funny because it felt like we're in 1991 and we don't have a data base with all the info. But I found a lot of websites that say the 312's fit my car, just as their website said. And I also think the previous owner fitted the wrong size fronts, as they do not have a wear lip..rears do have the wear lip and they seem fine in size to me.

    So if anyone can please enlighten me about this issue, as I want to fit 312mm fronts, and 245 or 255 rears under 17" wheels.
    Cheers guys!

    If your car takes the 288's you won't be fitting the 312's, If I were you i would be taking the wheels off anyway and seeing why there is no wear lip, are the discs as good as new and no lip has worn in yet? if someone has fitted undersized discs you'd best not be driving it, as the outer edge of the friction material will likely be off the edge of the disc, pads and caliper won't be loaded across the face evenly and you'll have reduced contact area. check twice, buy once !!

    If they are 288mm it gives you the ideal opportunity to upgrade to 312mm , all that is different is caliper carriers and discs , calipers and pads are the same .

    Check the build sticker in the boot, code 1LT is for 312mm discs which it should have. Mine is 163bhp version and has 312mm discs with 1LT code.

    Hi guys,
    Thanks for your replies and especially thank you to Calum for your advice. I've checked the wheel well area but there was no sticker...after a few minutes of searching I found the sticker under the back seat, right on the middle...It seems that 1LT is on the sticker which made my day I've attached a pic of the sticker . Could you please point out which one is the rear discs code.
    Thank you very much!

    Calum to the rescue! Thank you very much, you really helped me!
    I've got in touch with a friend that used to work for VW-Audi, and he sent me this to clarify:
    1LT = 312mm x 25mm VAG PN 8E0 615 301 R
    1KP = 255mm x 12mm VAG PN 8E0 615 601 Q

    Have a lovely day!

    I actually went with Brembo discs + Brembo pads all-round from a different source, after a phone chat with the Mtec support guy left me with a bitter taste as the guy was having some attitude issues and was very patronising in the way he expressed himself, which I found disappointing coming from a support team member of a store that I was "a click away" of paying a few hundred pounds to. Thank you all for your help!
