Hi all, need to know what type of oil for my A6 C6 2011 3.0 tdi Quattro. Garage said that I also need a sump as the filter is built in. Is this correct? Thanks.

Thanks for that, do you know if the filter is part of the sump? Or is it separate.

Think you will find plastic sump = filter built into the sump, steel sump = separate filter inside the sump.

For oil search ebay/web for Mannol AG55, quite a few people on the Discovery forum are running it in their zf 6 speed autos including me.

I forgot to say, most on the discovery forum get their tranny oil flushed and dont touch the filter at all, I would normally say new filters all the time, but as its a real crude filter in filtering terms and certainly would stop small debris like an engine oil filter would, I would say it can go a lot longer than the oil.

I did the sump/filter and oil on wifes old 2005 3.0tdi quattro A4, never got to do her 2010 3.0tdi quattro a6 as she wrote it off! but she now has a 2011 3.0 tdi quattro a6 so its on my to do list, so let us know how you get on.

Just an update, I can't seem to get the correct parts for this job, been to a few factors and they keep giving me the same kit which comes with a plastic sump 26 bolts and oil and seals...the tip-box I have is steel sump with about 13 bolts (6HP-19 KJC) stamped on it. any help would be much appreciated.
