Right guys i dont know if i should ask here or find someone to perform an exorcism got a customers car in with the following problem.

When the drivers door is open the dash shows the passenger door is and vice versa.

Both front window switches have reversed i.e. pulling up makes the window go down.

And to make this problem ever more complicated i have plugged in the vcds and no fault codes found, but when i connect to the drivers door and perform an output test it controls the passengers and vice versa.

I have asked the customer for the full story and he is adament that nothing has happened to the car that could cause this sort of problem. He has owned the car for 2 years and only had the usual service and brake pads/discs replaced.

Anyone ever come across this before?

Several years ago i helped a pal change the drivers window regulator in a B5 passat, on reassembly his electric mirror adjustment drivers side operated passenger and vice versa, sorry, we never resolved it and it was before I had VCDS to do any testing. All that had been done was unplugging the door card harnesses and re-plugging them on reassembly.
