Q7 transmission fluid aisian 8 speed ??

Hi guys ,i am desperate to change my transmission fluid 2011 q7 with 8 speed aisin gearbox code nac,drained a small amount and looks quite dirty,anyone know which fluid to use ,spoke to audi and its 38.00 per litre and they could not tell me anything about the spec etc all they said is its atf ,then spoke to local motor factor who said they do a compatible for 10.00 per litre which would have been fine but im not quite sure the guy was 100% sure,im not being a minge bag but if i can get it for less it makes sense ,cheers

Me personally I would only use genuine fluid.

If possible could you do a write up please on how to do this as I want to get it done.

Will do when i have done it ,to be honest it does not seem much of a job ,just want to get the correct fluid ,i have done many other cars but with out the proper machine to flush it you cant get all the fluid out ,im sure there is a way but i just want to get as much as i can out as mine looks quite dirty,will keep you informed how it goes.

just been advised that the correct fluid is mannol atf ws special long life synthetic which is used in toyota vehicles that also have the aisin gearbox ,so its ordered and hopefully will be here by weekend ,will update how it goes.

hi ,not yet ,as i fell off a trestle plastering and broke my rib,so im waiting until i can brave the pain enough,will keep you informed.

sorry shab for late reply i have not done it yet due to broken rib and back log of plastering work,i did the transfer box as it was so easy

Today I had mine serviced with genuine fluid and filter. It cost £233 for parts and £120 labour plus vat. £478 total.

Expensive but worth it for the peace of mind. They said the oil was definitely ready and the filter was black, it had done 74,460 miles. I don't believe these gearboxes should be regarded as 'sealed-for-life' units.
