Golf mk6 auto was making a scraping noise when changing gears, took gearbox out, dmf seems ok, after removing clutch cover discovered top locking ring was sat inside the top cover, took clutch apart one of the outer (bigger) rings was broken with a piece missing! After pulling the whole clutch out found the bottom of the clutch has been rubbing on the gearbox casing and has scored it, could it of been the piece of broken clutch that has caused this? When I put the clutch back in the casing and spin it by hand it makes a rubbing sound, is this normal?
