Just had a few strange issues over the last couple of days.

Switched the car on and a message stating "Tyre monitoring system error - system unavailable" A few minutes later it cleared itself?!?!?

Yesterday switched on - message stating "Stop Start system fault" - again cleared itself after a few miles.

Today - switched on - "Stop start system fault", "ACC Adaptive Cruise fault" - again cleared after a few minutes.

Any thoughts as to what is going on??? Clearly these various systems cant all be faulty as they soon returned to normal - wiring/ECU issue maybe??

    Anyone has similar experiences??

Check your battery voltage before and immediately after starting the engine and see if it is low and rising during the first few minutes of running, it could be your battery is on the way out.

I have now resolved the problem.

An auto electrician checked the fault codes which pointed to the rear nearside wheel speed sensor.

Upon investigation the clips holding the wiring loom to the wheel speed sensor had corroded which had led to the wire to rub on the suspension and short out. They changed the wiring loom but the fault remained.

It turned out the short in the loom had shorted out the wheel speed sensor which needed replacing. They tried fitting a Bosch sensor - but the car would not recognise it - so a genuine VW was fitted. All sorted! They checked the other o/s speed sensor wiring but that appears okay.

So something to look out for should you get any warning messages regarding ABS, TPMS, cruise control, stop/start etc.
