A few months ago my brake pad warning lamp would come on intermittently. Now its on all the time.
My local Indy said my brakes are fine but the front and rear nearside wiring looms both need replacing.
He states its common on the C7 as they draw up moisture like a straw causing the wires to corrode all the way up. Its about 70 quid for each loom repair kit plus 4 hours labour.
My question is would it be worth spending the money only for the same thing to happen again or could the light be coded out using a VAGCOM? The car has only done 40,000 at 4 years old.

If I were you, I'd actually do new brake pads all around that come with new sensors for just a few quid more...

They're quoting you for the looms back to the car not her small one's on the pads,If I was you I would unplug them 1 at a time put a jumper on the terminals and see which one is giving the problem, they can't all go at once.

As above, I would check the sensors on the brake pads themselves first. This can be done even without the wheel off, just jack up. If your car is like mine, there is only 1 sensor on each axle. The way they are routed and located it's very likely to be one of the wires that has broken. Only 1 has to be worn through to light the light up. They can be replaced without taking pads out. Putting a jumper across the plug terminals on the car side is a good idea. if no light = sensors, if still light = loom.

The sensors sit around the back of the calliper on the top of the back pad; think they are both nearside if I remember correctly.
