So, 6700 miles and the car wants adblue. When the warning popped up, I ordered 20L online for less then £19 delivered.

Took my car into Audi this week for the towbar electrics and the stone chip sticker on the wing to be replaced. Adblue warning was at 1100 miles.

They told me I needed adblue on collection and they charge £1.50 a litre. I said I'm fine as I've got a container, but since I collected the car, the warning has gone.

How do you know how much adblue is in it? And when I do fill it up? How do you know when it's getting full and has had enough (or do you just end up spilling it)?

Needless to mention, Audi didn't fix the towbar electrics and they put the stone chip guard on wonkey. Ridiculously wonkey. So it's not even on the wing at the bottom left corner. So, it'll be going back again

When the warning comes on with 1500 miles I normally can put in 15-17 litres.
More recently I have just shove 10litres in when the warning comes up as 10 litres is easier to manage.

Filled mine yesterday. Even with the proper Audi filling spout (vented one) it's painfully slow so I resorted to the funnel supplied with the AdBlu. It's faster but messier. Remember to wash off any spills. It's super corrosive stuff.

It gives you a long count down from about 1500 miles. Cheapest to buy and easiest to fill is the big shell 15l drum at £13.00. Takes a couple of minutes but zero mess and easy to do. I haven't spilled any as just put 15l in when it asks rather than try to top up the tank.

I've had my warning come up twice since I've had my BE. 1st was at 6500 miles, warning of 1500 to go. Put 10L in off Air1 via ebay. (£18 for 2 x 10L drums). That lasted 5000 miles until it popped up again. Put the 2nd 10L in. I put an old t shirt around the filler because it's messy to do with the spout which comes with the 10L drum and I want to keep it off the paintwork. Made a right mess of my driveway until it was washed away by the rain!

I've always used the official audi / VW filler tube. As mentioned it takes bloody ages with the official tube but I've done mine 3 times now and I've never spilt a drop!

Well I've just spilled more than I got in it... before realising the tank must be full. Audi must have topped it up and forgot to charge me for it, because nothing is going down into the tank (and not to mention the warning hasn't been on since it went in).

    Oh well... that's a bonus I suppose.

But seriously.... how ***** is the filler design. Someone needs shooting for that. Ridiculous.
