So the other day I was driving home from work and noticed a metal grinding sound, isolated this down to near side brakes. So, today I pulled the brake off and removed the disc, and do require replacing. Now I'm thinking the caliper is binding on to the disk and needs replacing which is what was causing the grinding sound. The pads are only a few months old and have plenty of material on, they did however apart to look like they had been grinding on the disk. So, seeing as I'm replacing the discs and carrying out a brake fluid flush, I thought I might as well either replace the Calipers, or buy a rebuild kit and refurb them, but is it worth it? Car is a 08 2.0 TDI SE.

Check price of VAG reconditioned calipers. GFS might be worth a look - check guide pins are hard chrome finish.
