On my 1.6 tdi the fans always run anytime it is drove (been like this since I got it a couple of months ago)
No faults codes, no warning lights, and no I dont have the air con isn't on when this happens
The DPF oil ash reading is at 39g - Is this high?
Any time the car does a regen, if sitting in traffic or at a traffic light the temp guage will rise? (just after a new water pump and timing belt as I thought it was the pump at fault but it still happens)

Here is some of the figures VCDS displayed:
    Address 01: Engine (03L 906 023 CQ)

Has the emissions mod been done? If so, take it into a dealer, they should fix it under warranty.

I had contacted VW and they told me the car didn't get a recall done to it.

On the way home from work today it done another regen, only it started to stutter very badly. I.e in 4th at 50Mph and I had to go down a gear to clear and whilst free wheeling and out off gear I floored it and it stuttered again.

I would take the DPF off and send it for cleaning.

Not what I had in mind, maybe if nobody had never done that then Diesel wouldn't be getting bad press....

Last week I got the car remapped along with the EGR deleted and DPF deleted and gutted out. Now the car drives great, very smooth and no stalling
However my fans are running constant when the car is up to temp
    Anybody have any ideas?

I was having the same problems, so i took mine to a reputable company in Crewe who did the egr fix, gutted the dpf, rolled back the software then remapped it. Dyno'd at 145bhp & 300Nm of torque. Runs perfect with no more regens or fans running.
