Get a second hand set of locks off eBay. Then program new key transponders to the dash, this will delete the old ones.

You could ask your dealer to recode your ignition key & remote. When you code a key all other keys are wiped, so at least they couldn't drive off in the car. And they wouldn't be able to use the remote on the stolen key to locate the car either.

Maybe not the perfect solution but a much cheaper one than having all the locks replaced.

    Jim.

I would replace locks in any case. Second hand parts on eBay are cheap and you can swap them relatively easily yourself.

I've got a mk4 door lock, boot lock and ignition lock here. Not sure if they will fit a beetle though.
Where are you based? Could have a look and see if they fit. Don't want much for them.
