    Hi guys,

As title says, passenger side A/C picks and chooses when it blows "low" but on occasion it does so I'd assume that would rule some things out. I have both sides synced and turn both dials to "low". Driver's side I have no issue with and passenger side would blow cool but not cold then as I say it may change it's mind later on. Is there a controller unit behind the glovebox at all? I had the glovebox out recently and am just wondering if I may have disturbed something? I've only had the car 3 months so I don't know if the issue was there originally or it was caused by myself.

Any advice or help would be gratefully appreciated.

    1) Refrigerant levels low?
    2) Flap motor not functioning. Is it from a specific vent or all of the vents on the passenger side? 6 flap motors in total. 1 on drivers side, 3 in the middle and 2 next to the blower motor. All the motors in the middle and passenger side can be reached via removing the globe box. Guides around how to remove and open the motors up to grease them again. Otherwise will need replacing. Only £20 each so if you can run diagnostic and find out which one, replace that.

Some great pointers there. Thanks for the input.

    1) If they were would that not mean that driver's side would also have temperature issues?
    2) Thus far I have discovered that it's the passenger side vent on the furtherest left part of the dashboard (UK Car) and the Passenger side middle vent as well. I will check the others.

    1) not necessarily, they're maybe enough pressure to reach the passenger driver side vents (nearest to the AC inlet) but not the passenger.
    2) sounds like it will be the V158 flap motor. This is the bottom most motor of the three central flap motors. It can be accessed easily enough by removing the glove box.

Thanks again for your help. Just to clarify by second point again,

    2) Thus far I have discovered that it's the passenger side vent on the furtherest left part of the dashboard (UK Car) and the Passenger side middle vent as well [that are affected] . I will check the others [tomorrow] and report back.

Incidentally, when I take the glove box out what exactly am I looking from the V158 flap motor to determine of it's faulty? How can I test it or determine if it's working properly?

    Thanks

You need to start the car up, and set the air con to low and change the different directions of air flow. You should see the flaps change direction smoothly. If they are "notchy" or fail to move you have isolated the problem component. You can then remove the pending motor and either split it open and clean it, regrease it and re fit, or buy another one. A full set of flap motors is around £100 if you replace all 5.

Some great information there, thanks very much for this.

I also checked the other passenger side blowers; front and rear footwells, front windscreen blower passenger side and rear centre passenger side and they are all affected by the same issue. The driver's side a/c is always colder.

I'll take the glovebox out next week and take a closer look following your tips.
