    Hello all,

I'm going to remove and re-seal the sump on my 1.4 TSI engine at the weekend (it's a leaker) and while I'm in there I'll be changing the oil suction pipe/strainer as well. My question is: what is the best way to prime the oil system on these? On other cars, I pull the fuel pump fuse or disconnect the injector plugs and crank the engine until the oil light goes out but I've not had to do this on the 1.4 TSI and I can't locate a fuel pump fuse.

    Many thanks.

I don't have a fuse & relay layout for 1.4 TSI, all mine are TDI. Post the year and Type Code of the data sticker and I'll make a PDF from ElsaWin?

That isn't the Type Code, that's an 09 plate and CAXA engine code which isn't fitted to VW. Audi, Seat and Skoda only.

This Type Code is 1K1 3V2 of the data sticker which is on the first page of the service schedule, the other half is on the boot floor next to the spare wheel well.

Thanks for reply. I found it in the end (was fuse number 10 as opposed to 6 in the manual).

Fairly easy job in the end but worth noting that the manual says that you should machine 5mm off the gearbox-engine separator plate. I couldn't see why and was following a youtube video where the guy didn't do this but it is necessary as the sump will not go on square without that 5mm removed.
Bad design by VW as it has clearly not been thought through; they have assumed that the gearbox is off when the sump is re-sealed.
