    Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a special procedure for bleeding the electronic thermostat assembly; part number 06A121111? By my logic it would be more efficient to command the thermostat to open and leave the car run for 20 minutes or so to get all the air out quickly, then revoke the command and let computer regulate it as normal when you feel the worst of the air is out of the cooling system. Is this something that can be done, perhaps using VCDS lite or back-probing with a PowerProbe, or is it a case of leave it alone and bleed it like you would a standard mechanical thermostat?

As I got no reply, and for those who may have a similar question in the future, I bleed the coolant system (after changing the electronic thermostat housing) as if it had a mechanical thermostat and had no issues after idling the car for at least 30 minutes. I was extra diligent at squeezing the bottom radiator hose to aid the process.
