    Hi,
    Newbie so please be gentle.
The local dealer have had my A7 for a week as the radio (and all sound) has been non-existent, failing or at best intermittent over the last couple of months.
After a few blind alleys they have now decided the radio control unit requires replacement at £1465. At not far off 10% of the value of the car that leave me feeling uncomfortable.
The car is still with them and they tell me the part number is V4F0 035 061 H.
I have looked for alternatives from breakers and the this number does not seem to exist. The most common number being 4G 0035 061 with either an I, J, Q, L or M to finish.
Would I be able to replace my unit with a part that has a different final letter?
My A7 is a 2011 3.0TDI Quattro if that helps.
    Any advice gratefully received.
    Thanks!

    Update, I have managed to track down V4F0 035 061 H.
Is this just a simple swap out or will this require coding that can only be done by an Audi dealer?

You will need dealer to unlock unit, they need to remove 'component protection'

Should be a 4G0 part number as the 4F0 is previous generation of A6 models. Open the left side cubby and theere will be a silver box under the amp unit with the part number on it It will have a white and black antenna connections on it so you know its the radio unit your looking at. Dont worry about the letter at the end.

Within reason any revision of the 061 will work, but it will need coding and unlocking by the dealership or someone with VAS/ODS online access.

1500 quid is excessive, replace the unit yourself and get Audi to just do the unlocking and coding.
MY2014 S7, Phantom Black, 21" rims, Heads up display, Front and rear camera, TV, BOSE, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Adaptive Cruise, Traffic Sign Recognition, DVD changer, Audi LED logos, Lighting pack, MMI touch with Audi connect, lots of others I can't think of but I know they are there.
