Hi everyone, really enjoying the new Q7. Just covered first 2000 miles. No issues at all until last few days when I have noticed that yesterday and today that the front, rear, and side cameras have all cut out at the end of long journey. Normally use these for parking assistance but on both occasions screen is completely blank. Ultra proximity sensors work but screen which normally shows views all round car is just black!
Tried switching engine off and seeing if resets but the only way I can get it to work again works is if I switch off, get out of the car, lock the doors, and then reopen again. Everything then seems to work fine. Only happened twice but both times at the end of a long journey of a few hundred miles.
Anyone experienced anything similar. Any suggestions to get rid of the gremlin?
    Cheers.

Sounds like some sort of software bug gremlin. Have once noticed similar happen to me but only the one time and not since. However don't recall if that was after a long journey or anything.

Worth checking with dealers if MMI update is available for your car at all? Not 100% sure that would fix it but worth getting in touch with dealers but your reboot via engine on off seems to do the trick. What happens if you switch off the sensors/camera using the P button on the dash and then re-engage it - does that trip the pictures back up?

Hope it gets sorted or sorts itself out

I've been having MMI problems (usually freezes and needs a 3-digit reboot) so car is currently in Poole Audi for a look-see and maybe a s/w upgrade.

There is new firmware for the AreaView cameras (360 ones)... so there might be a TPI now that references it getting applied.. but I dont know that for sure.. just a hunch.

do you have ODBEleven? could check what your on for the camera system (not MMI)

hi rza, interested to hear how you got on. I have informed local dealer but not booked it in for them to take a look. They said it wasn't an MMI reboot and suspect its firmware. Its bizarre how it only happens, so far, on long runs of a couple of hours

Will do. Mine is different and not related to length of drive, just random. I just hope they resolve it.

Just had a call from the dealer, really frustrating tbh. They said no faults logged so nothing they can do. Poor in my view. I will film it to prove it!

Dealer can literally only work off what the car tells them so if no fault is logged they can't do anything. If they changed something on a hunch and did a warranty claim, audi AG would need to see logs to validate it and if not they would then charge back the dealership for parts etc... So you can see their predicament (to a degree....)

Yes makes sense Andy and pretty much what they told me. I will film it the next time it happens and then take it from there. Just not looking forward to the hassle of keep taking it back. Will see and will update all. Seems like a few are having this issue.
