I have noticed the last day or two when I open doors on car interior lights do not come on, what could this be ?
Also factory fitted alarm sets when I press on key fob but when set off no alarm siren just flashing indicators.

Any advice would be most welcome ?

    Thanks
    Carmine

A global scan of the cars system is required plus some studying of what are known as "measuring blocks" in the appropriate controllers, namely the central convenience system and the drivers door controller. As a guess I would say the drivers door lock unit is faulty.

It needs a fault code read of all the cars systems, print these out, clear all the codes and then run the car for a while then re-read, this way whatever comes back you know is real. The best system easily available is VCDS which almost all independent VAG specialists will have and also many all makes garages also have, generic scanner systems used by almost every garage in the country can tend to give very unreliable and misleading results, especially Snap Off systems.

I haven't taken the car anywhere but noticed that above windscreen where you have interior lights when I open doors now interior light do come on and off after timer once doors are shut. I found hat if it didn't work just gently tapped unit where lights are and it works. Just have to see why alarm trumpet does not work
