    Hi

My 61 reg Audi Q7 rear wiper started playing up today. At one point it wouldn't stop running. Did stop eventually.

Noticed there seems to be washer fluid in the trim when I opened the boot.

    Any ideas guys?

    Recently had this on mine.
The seals go on the shaft letting water run into the motor and cause this issue.
    GENUINE VALEO REAR WIPER MOTOR 12V AUDI A3 8P +SPORTBACK 03-13 Q7 4L 06-15 Q5 8R | eBay
That is a replacement part and best price.
Will take about an hour to swap.
If you want I can write you a quick guide.

Thanks for the info pal. Have you had any issues with that part or do you recommend a genuine one?

Yes a quick guide would be great pal.

I just remember seeing washer fluid come out of internal trim. Going to strip it down tonight to see exactly the fault but suspect it's the motor.
Might disconnect the wiring till I get a new motor, what do you think?

It is a genuine part. Made by Valeo. Mine was even stamped with the correct Audi numbers.

It also has a 3 year warranty.

I had the same a bit of water leaking and thought ????? then the wiper went mad.

First use a small piece of tape to mark the alignment of the wiper on the rear window.

Carefully pull off the cover and pull off the washer jet, then undo the nut to release the arm and it should pull off.

You need to remove the trims round the window first.

The top one has a screw hidden under a cover in the centre, remove then pull carefully off the clips.

The side trims then have one screw to remove and same carefully pull to remove.

you need to carefully pop the button for the boot lowering and also the boot light and disconnect these. (keep hold of the boot button as you will need it.)

Open where the warning triangle is and remove this and all the screws in the boot trim.

Pop off the two covers that give access to the inner rear bulbs as there are two screws in there.

Give a good pull to remove this carefully and put to one side.

The mech is held on with 3 nuts remove these then disconnect the plug.

The hose also unclips but i cant remember how, i think its squeeze it off.

I also purchased this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-REAR-.../182698417556? because if these clog up they can cause issues too and i got fed up of unblocking my original one and for the price its not bad.

Yes to disconnecting the wiring that's what i did until the new part arrived. I left all the inner trim off and cable tied the boot lowering button to the boot so it could be closed.

I think it only took a couple of days to arrive.

    Thanks for the info pal.
I took apart the trim and the washer fluid leaks internally to the wiper mechanism. I've disconnected the wiring for the time being and have ordered a new wiper mechanism. I've also ordered a new washer nozzle like you said.
The trim itself was easy enough to remove, just careful with the clips etc.

Hopefully should be here this week.

Appreciate all your help pal and will keep you updated.

Just to update, replaced the motor with a genuine one and all is fine now. Just waiting for a replacement water jet and will be finished fully.

However did notice that my wiper arm when down has a little play when moved. Not the motor side but the actual wiper arm and pivot section. How much play does everyone have on there's? Thinking I might need a new arm at some point ?

With all the crap that ends up on the rear window i would advise against this as with a normal blade it has a little more flex to save scratches on the rear window.
