I used to get a message on the dis along the lines of saying windows is open and it's not economical to drive with them open. I haven't seen that for a while. Was there a software update that removed this? Is it something that was on the ultra only as I've had the 177,190 ultra and now the 272.
Was expecting it to come on today while driving with the windows open but nothing at any speeds.
Thought I would ask. It's been a slow day 😆

My Golf R used to give me driving tips for economical driving. I used to leave it in 4th and not change up just to remind it who was boss.

Think you need to have "Efficiency" selected in Drive Select to get the messages

Think it maybe Model year related. MY2016 brochure includes the following under the Engine & Transmission description:
Efficiency programme – the Driver's Information System comes with an efficiency programme which offers up-to-the minute advice on ways to help improve fuel economy as you driv

But in the MY17 brochure it has gone

Which makes that more strange I've a late 2015. And my ultra was a 2014 early facelift.
Definitely seen it before. Gonna have a muck about with vcds and see if it's something there.
It's a strange thing to remove when they want us to lower consumption and reduce carbon.

Who wants efficient driving tips anyway. I turned them off in my Golf. And when my ex used to then give me 'driving tips' I binned her off too.

At the end of the day, it's a VAG diseasal. It's emissions are killing kittens and puppies from the moment you turn the key. Maybe Audi realised this and decided to stop being such hypocrites

Probably I'm wrong, and you are talking about something different, but I have such information in the "Fuel Consumption" or "efficiency(?)" option in the DIS menu. In this case I will see such advices, like "mirror heating is on", "seat heating is on", while this system also gives you an estimated additional fuel consumption value. Probably you can find a "windows are open" message there. If I remember well, you will not see these information directly as you see the actual fuel consumption first, and you have to scroll down for the tips, but as I used this menu a long time ago, I don't remember well, except, this menu item exists in the DIS menu for sure in my car.
