Missing messages

It used to come up all the time. That's why I'm thinking its been turned off or removed from a software update or something.

Played on the way home from work. Works in any Drive Select mode, but you need to select "Efficiency Program" in the DIS, then they appear.

Couldn't get it to work. Tried the efficiency program in efficiency mode on drive select and nothing at any speeds between 0-70

Well, I made it work. Not easy, but working.

You have to select the "Efficiency program" and the "Efficiency" in the drive select. You have to drive continously at a minimum 20MPH, and THEN, but just then, if you open the window, and let it be down for several seconds, THEN the message appeared for me. If I closed the windows and tried it LATER then the message appeared again. IF the window was open during the driving, the message didn't appeared at all. Probably below the rear-view cam speed it will not work at all, as at speeed its' possible that there is a reason why you open the window, fe to see the road during a parking, or if you just pay for something. Therefore is a delay too.

So, if I tried it stationary, or when the window was not opened for a longer period, or if I selected "Individual" from the car settings, then nothing appeared on the screen. Upon these as there is no warning beep at all, if you don't look down, you will not see this information at all.

Just for fun, I looked for other messages, how useful this feature is. So I started to heat the passanger side seat, but there was no message, like "stop heating the seat if nobody sits there". I disabled the stop/go but there was no message that I can save fuel if I enable the stop and go system.

By this, probably the "close windows" is the only message there, and it's just an easter egg, which was left in the MMI.

Worked the same way on my 2014 as it does on the new 2017 one.....open window. Select effeciency display and its there (together with ac etc etc). No need to select a different driving mode. At least not on mine.

Well just back from driving for about an hour or so and managed to provoke a message😄
Not the one I'm looking for but will take it.
"Aerodynamics: close windows"
Only kicks in at 70mph ish.
Not the efficiency one or the air con on one so there is more than one.

I was really excited when it came up on mine last night ...not because it did but so I could give the how to on here...only to find you guys got in before me !
So on mine (A7), same as above, eff display on the DIS but I'm in Individual mode (but in D as opposed to S)
Start/stop is also on.

With drivers window down
"Air conditioner is on: close windows"

First one was from 50 > 44mph
Then 36 > 29mph
but at random times it seems - first was within 2 mins, the second was 5-6 minutes
