I have a 2006 Audi A4 B7 2.7 TDI which has randomly cut out on me whilst driving a few times over the months. I have had it scanned twice by an Audi Specialist using VAGcom and the codes have come up as all injectors in bank A and bank B (V6 engine) are faulty and also all glow plugs.

All injectors, glow plugs and wiring upto the ECU has been checked and no fault can be found so the have determined that it can only be a ECU fault thats causing this.

Ive browsed online and ECU repair places charges around £250.
A new unit from Audi would cost £750 inc VAT. Are these plug and play or would a new unit have to be coded/programmed by Audi ?

Anyone had successes with ECU repairs ?

You would need a new ecu coded to your vehicle. I would prefer to do more diagnostics before sending ecu away, or even worse, ordering a new one.

Better double check the injector pulses with scopemeter and glow plugs voltage and current. Also posting fault codes, engine code would be helpful.

    Codes on 1st scan was,
    005659 - GLOWPLUG FOR CYLINDER 2 (Q11)
    P161B - OPEN CIRCUIT
    SAME FAULT ON ALL PLUGS

004162 - SUPPLY VOLTAGE TO INJECTORS
    P1042 - CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION - INTERMITTENT

The second time it cut out the scans came back as,

005648 - INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE SUM ERROR
004162 - SUPPLY VOLTAGE B FOR INJECTORS CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
004160 - SUPPLY VOLTAGE A FOR INJECTORS CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

ALL GLOW PLUGS SHOWING OPEN CIRCUIT

The Engine code is BPP, all wiring from injectors to ECU has been checked also the all glow plugs and nothing is wrong them.
After the codes are cleared they don't reappear until it cuts out again.
