Hi all. I have a 2003 Audi A4 b6 in coupe which has 1.9tdi 130 of engine with 150000 on it. Oils being changed every 5k, timebelt and related were done last year. Now I have an oil leak. It works out as by the end of 5000miles period, oil level is getting very low. I guess it leaks like 2 drops of oil per 3-4 hours or near. I have been to garage with this issue to make them look at it. The only response I've got that there is nothing to worry about and old diesel engines are prone to leaks any way. Apparently it's normal. Or is it?. What your thoughts are? Should i worry? Iam worried to be frank. Car is perfect for economical run for long distances, which I do to work ( 75 miles motorway 5 days a week) What could it be tho? Engine runs good otherwise. Thank you all

could be loads of things, you or the garage will have to get under the car, get the trays off, clean up the existing oil and look for where the oil is coming from, some leaks could be a very quick fix such as the camshaft cover rubber gasket, or much more work like sump gasket or crankshaft seal. You'll have to find the leak and make the judgement call to fix it or not. If you can't find the leak you could try putting one of the UV dyes in the oil and using a UV torch to try and locate it.
I have the same engine in a passat, it drips a bit oil from the turbo intercooler pipe down by the front nearside, this is pretty normal on these engines, it also has a odd drip from the back of the engine which I suspect is the tandem pump to head gasket but i'm not pulling it to bits to find out. I don't lose much to leakage and the stick drops from max to just above minimum over 10000 miles due to these minor leaks and normal oil consumption, I top up maybe half a litre in that distance.
