Hi all. I have a 2003 Audi A4 b6 in coupe which has 1.9tdi 130 of engine with 150000 on it. Oils being changed every 5k, timebelt and related were done last year. No I have an oil leak. It works as by the end of 5000miles period oil is getting very low. I guess it leaks like 2 drops of oil per 3-4 hours or near. I have been to garage with this issue to make them look at it. The only response I've got that there is nothing to worry about and old diesel engines are prone to leaks any way. Apparently it's normal. Or is it?. What your thoughts are? Should i worry? Ian worried to be frank. Car is perfect for economical run for long distances, which I do ( 75 miles motorway 5 days a week) What could it be tho? Engine runs good otherwise. Thank you all

2 drops per 3-4 hours of running? Yes, you could fix it but depending on where it is it could be very time consuming. I would leave it alone.

If it was mine, I would just keep checking the level regularly, & topping up as necessary. It could cost a fortune to cure the leak.

Agree with Alan, not worth it unless it gets worse. The engine could also be using some oil.

I would tend to not leave it too long though.

I had an oil leak, but thanks to the forum, researched different items, and found that I needed to clean two parts, I now have no issues with oil consumption.
The tell tell sign was that I could smell burnt oil whilst driving, the oil was running out of the top of the crank case down the rear of the engine and touching the exhaust. The reason for the oil coming out of the crank case I found was not due to a gasket leak, but excess pressure. The excess pressure was caused by a split hose at my PCV that was allowing a vacuum leak. This resulted in a build up of gunk inside the 'hockey-puck' valve at the top of the engine that came off the crank case as the system was not working correctly.
Summary was that I fixed the split hose, cleaned the 'hockey-puck' and tubes over a few days and the car no longer smells of oil or leaks.
