Last issue was resolved thanks to the members here so thought i would ask another question.....

Is it possible to stream music (iPhone) in the car?

I understand i can connect it to the MMI via bluetooth for recieving calls or connect it via the cable in the armrest that allows me to play music from my phone that has been downloaded on the phones memory.....

Question is.......I've got an Apple Music subscription and really want to be able to stream whilst on the move

    Is it possible?

You should be able to. In my A6 and the S3 I can stream music from Napster - it drops out when the phone signal is poor though. I just use the bluetooth connection and media.

It doesn't matter what you want to listen via Bluetooth.

If it works, than it will play the music you have been started on your mobile device.

Despite I haven't got the AMI interface in the armrest, I think, the sound quality could be far superior over it against to the Bluetooth connection, so I suggest to choose the cable if you have the lightning connector there.

That's what I do although the car always defaults to the Apple Music app so I have to go to Napster and play from there

I dont want to also pay for Napster.......

How do you set up playing music via bluetooth or lead in armrest Scott?

If I plug the phone into the armrest and select media, it only shows the music files that are physically saved onto the phone?

Maybe the new A6 is different but I just go into the service and press play on the phone.

Being a 2017 model, you may have the Audi Smartphone Interface, where the phone can be controlled on the MMI, once connected by cable, using Apple Carplay or Android auto. If not it can be retrofitted. I'm looking into getting my A7 activated. Costs approximately £270, plus labour to initialise it via the Audi servers.

If you do not have Audi Connect then you have MMI RMC, be aware the MMI version in the new Q7 is not the same as that in the A6, the A6 will get that version or an enhancement of it next year. Reverting to your original question, in Telephone under settings you have the option to turn on Bluetooth Audio Streaming. With that turned on then go the the"Paired Devices" option and you can include Audio Streaming for your paired device. Once done, then under Media you will have the paired device as another option. Be aware the control of the bluetooth streaming from the car is somewhat limited so selecting the streamed source etc will need to be done on the devide itself
