Is vcds lite or full registered version? Lite version can't access every module to pull up stored DTCs

ESP is linked to ABS. You can go into the ABS controller and check measuring blocks and take note of the values.

One thing to note as well. They are quite dependent on specific voltages. Check your battery using a multimeter. Failing battery can cause a hell of a lot of problems just like the one you mentioned.

Yep, get ABS module scanned. Monitor live data on wheel speeds during road test (2nd operator required).

I've had that fault on my passat where one of the wheel sensors would come in and out of fault, the sensor tip was dirty, wiped clean and been ok for the last two years, could also be a poor connection at the plug as well.

Absolutely, clean contacts and make sure it's pushed in correctly.

If fault persists, replace the sensor. Get part number, might be cheaper from dealers than eBay.

Certainly sounds plausible. If the speed sensor isn't making a good connection either by being loose or dirty it can give a faulty reading. Whip it off and clean the connector /sensor with isopropyl alcohol. When it's fully dry reconnect firmly and see how it goes from there.

    Keep me updated
