A few days ago I was driving my mk6 golf 1.6tdi then got home and turned the engine off. 5 minutes later I get back into the car and switch the engine back on. The glow plug light starts flashing and the engine lights glows also. The turbo does not spool and the car will not rev over 3000. I’ve had it scanned at a garage and got back the code P0047 Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit Low. Any idea how I can go about fixing this?
    Many Thanks

It is an odd code (equivalent to VAG 16431, thanks Keithuk) and it is basically saying the wiring to the N75 valve is faulty. If it was the power wire then it would be likely accompanied with an EGR valve fault code so suggests the brown/yellow at the 14 pin connector near that battery could be broken of corroded. It would not surprise me, knowing the CAYC engine as I do, that a proper VAG specific code read would show more information and point directly to a failed EGR valve. Has this car had the stupid emissions recall done?

In the fuse box under the bonnet, number 23 which is used for the solenoid was blown. I’ve replaced it and the issue still persists. Yes it’s had the emissions recall, regret doing it now as I’ve had nothing but problems since.

That fuse also feeds the EGR valve, I would suggest you have a proper VAG specific code read which I expect will show you need a new EGR valve, we do about 1 a week WHEN we can get hold of them genuine VW, after bad experiences we will not fit pattern units on these engines as it takes around five hours to change one and it is extremely annoying when they fail. The recall isn't the reason the valve fails, it would have failed anyway, but it can show up one that is marginal.
